RACE INFORMATION:
A great, off-road duathlon at beautiful Tyler State Park! This year, 2013, will be our 9th year to have this event!

DISTANCE:
Normal Solo Sprint Distance: Racers will run 2 1/2 miles of trails, mountain bike 10 miles, then finish with another 2 1/2 mile trail run.
NEW! Short Solo Sprint Distance: Racers will run 1 mile of trails, mountain bike 5.75 miles, then finish with another 1 mile run.
NORMAL COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will involve running Loop A twice and mountain biking A, B, C, D loops.
Race Direction: Run A Loop Clockwise, Bike loops Clockwise, Run A loop Counter Clockwise.
SHORT COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will involve running EZ Loop twice and mountain biking A and B loops.
Race Direction: Run EZ Loop Clockwise, Bike loops Clockwise, Run EZ Loop Counter Clockwise.
This event is for solo male and female racers; however, we do have a RELAY division and a special "heartbreak" feature explained below.
SPECIAL AWARD CATEGORY:
OPTIONAL -- Special Heartbreak Participants: If you want to "team up" with your loved one, to celebrate this time of year (Valentine's Day), the top three coed couples will receive a special award for having the fastest combined race time.
The couple does not have to stay together. We will simply add each racer's finish time to create the Heartbreak time.
Simply register as normal (SOLO) and tell us on race day, who your partner is! Each racer's results will be submitted to USAT as individuals.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
- Mountain bike (cyclocross bike okay, too, but not recommended on this course);
- Mountain bike helmet;
BENEFITING:
This event will benefit Extreme Missionary Adventures and the work they do with spreading the Gospel and providing food and medical aid to needy countries.

WEATHER:
* If we have inclement weather (lightening) and have to cancel the race, we may reschedule the event.
Due to the fixed expenses incurred once the event starts (Insurance, race site fees, T-shirts/giveaways), we will not reschedule, if we have to stop the race early, due to weather. Category winners may be determined by the status at the time the event is stopped.
TRANSITION AREA:
Blackjack campgrounds. Only racers will be allowed in the Transition area during the race. Racers will enter and leave the TA for each leg through designated areas, during and after the race. Violations may result in disqualification.
AWARDS:
Age division awards will provided for age divisions with five or more competitors registered and paid by January 20, 2013. If an age division does not have enough participants, they will be combined with another age group .
Relay division (one person runs, the other bikes) will have awards, if there are 5+ teams.
PARKING:
Participants will use mountain bike parking lot, as well as along the sides of the Blackjack Campgrounds parking area. Please do not park in a campsite space, unless you have reserved and paid the park office.
